What a fantastic old chest found in a house clearence sale in the garden. There was surface rust on it which I rubbed off, the chest is structurally sound with No rust holes. I was going paint it but i feel that would take away its age and patina, but the choice is yours. Really dont know how old it is, definitely Vintage but could be Antique. It has a brass clasp but has lost its locking mechanism. One of the metal rivet on lock is missing but still held securely by the other one. It has two side handles for easy carriage.
