This is a beautiful and ornate hand mirror and quite heavy for its size. There are no makings marks on mirror. I also have seen identical mirrors on line marked as silver plated, but I cannot be 100% sure this mirror is, but due to the work been put into its intricate design my gut feeling is that it is silver plated,please do your own research. In good used condition never tried to clean as I like its old patina but the choice is yours. There is some minor chipping of the surround glass I have magnified on photos.
